President Bush Signs Bill Extending Jobless Benefits
WASHINGTON D.C. - White House officials say President Bush signed a bill that will extend unemployment benefits for up three months for those whose benefits have run our or are about to expire.

163rd Parade Details Finalized
EVANSVILLE - The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:45 AM Sunday and the route will begin at the Whirlpool plant on US 41.  The route will move south on US 41 and then east on the Lloyd to Vann Avenue before ending at the National Guard Armory.  NEWS 25 will be covering the event live on Sunday around 11:00 AM.

Trailer Maker Laying Off Half Of Its Terre Haute Work Force
TERRE HAUTE, IN - Great Dane Trailers announced Thursday that about 115 Terre Haute workers will lose their jobs on December 19th.  Workers were warned about the layoffs earlier this week.  Great Dane says the cuts are because their customers have been hard-hit by the struggling global economy.

Attorney General Mukasey Collapses During Speech
UPDATE 5:07am
WASHINGTON D.C. - Attorney General Michael Mukasey is still recovering in a Washington D.C. Hospital after collapsing during a speech Thursday night. Officials say he is conscious and alert this morning. Witnesses say Mukasey began shaking during a speech to the Federalist Society and collapsed.

What Caused An Overnight Downtown Evansville House Fire?
EVANSVILLE - News 25 learns fire investigators are combing through evidence as they try to determine what sparked a fire near a downtown Evansville apartment that injured two firefighters. A renter from that apartment complex is threatening a lawsuit. She feels that she was not at fault and is blaming her landlord.

NEWS 25 Looks into Fire Code of Horse Stables
HENDERSON CO. - NEWS 25 learns the stable at the Riverside Downs race track that caught fire, killing 28 horses, did not have a smoke detector, smoke alarms or a sprinkler system.
